Phase 2: Multilingual Content Generation (v0.3.0)

Target Languages:

  • English (entries)
  • German (entries)

AI Prompts:

async function generateKnowledgeEntry(topic: KnowledgeTopic, locale: 'en' | 'de') {
  const language = locale === 'de' ? 'German' : 'English';
  const prompt = `Generate a comprehensive knowledge entry in ${language}:

  Topic: ${topic.topic}
  Category: ${topic.category}

  ${topic.prompt}

  Output format:
  {
    "title": "Entry title",
    "content": "Long-form content (300-500 words)",
    "tags": ["tag1", "tag2", "tag3"],
    "summary": "Short summary (50 words)"
  }

  ${topic.properNames ? 'IMPORTANT: Keep proper names/trademarks in original language: "Awareness Through Movement", "Functional Integration", "Feldenkrais Method"' : ''}`;

  const result = await AIProvider.generate(prompt);
  return JSON.parse(result);
}

Phase 3: Pre-Load Knowledge on First Launch (Immediate)

Implementation:

// Initial data seeding
const INITIAL_KNOWLEDGE: KnowledgeEntry[] = [
  // Generated entries will be inserted here
];

// On app init, if knowledge is empty:
async function initializeKnowledgeBase() {
  const existingEntries = await DatabaseAPI.getAllKnowledge();

  if (existingEntries.length === 0) {
    console.log('Knowledge base empty. Pre-loading foundational entries...');

    for (const topic of KNOWLEDGE_TOPICS) {
      // Generate or use pre-generated content
      const entry = await generateKnowledgeEntry(topic, 'de');
      await DatabaseAPI.createKnowledgeEntry(entry);
    }

    toast.success('Grundwissen zur Wissensbasis hinzugefügt');
  }
}

Phase 4: Admin Content Management (v0.3.0)

Admin Tools:

  • Edit generated knowledge entries
  • Add new entries manually
  • Regenerate entries with updated AI prompt
  • Export/import knowledge base (for sharing)
  • Delete obsolete entries

Content Quality

Requirements

  • Accurate factual information (especially for biographical data)
  • Respects proper names and trademarks
  • Tone: Educational, encouraging, accessible
  • Length: 300-500 words per entry
  • Tags: 3-5 relevant tags for filtering
  • Categories: Proper categorization

Quality Control

  • Human review of generated content before inclusion
  • Factual verification for biographical/historical data
  • Check for proper name preservation
  • Ensure cultural appropriateness for German audience

Implementation Dependencies

Depends on:

  • #21: Multilingual knowledge base (for German translations)
  • AI Provider with German language support

Suggested Order:

  1. This issue: Generate English content first
  2. #21: Add multilingual support
  3. This issue (step 2): Generate German translations

Acceptance Criteria

  • Generate 12+ foundational knowledge entries
  • Content covers Dr. Feldenkrais, method fundamentals, German associations
  • Pre-load entries on first app launch (empty knowledge base)
  • Multilingual: English and German versions
  • Proper names/trademarks preserved (no translation)
  • Content is educational and accessible
  • Admin review interface for generated content
  • Each entry has: title, content, category, tags

Testing

Manual Testing:

  1. Fresh install of ATM app
  2. Open Knowledge page
  3. Verify pre-loaded entries appear
  4. Test language switch (entries translate correctly)
  5. Verify proper names are preserved in German

Content Review:

  • Dr. Feldenkrais biography is accurate
  • German associations' information is correct
  • No hallucinations or factual errors
  • Tone is appropriate for Feldenkrais audience

Questions

  1. Should content be pre-generated (hardcoded) or generated on first launch?
  2. How often should content be updated/reviewed?
  3. Should users be able to contribute entries (community knowledge base)?
  4. How to handle updates to scientific understanding of Feldenkrais?
  • #21: Knowledge page multilingual support
  • #19: Lesson Detail View (may reference knowledge base)
  • #18: TTS Customization (TTS for knowledge articles?)

Priority

High - Users expect foundational knowledge; empty knowledge base is poor UX

✅ Issue #22 COMPLETED - AI-generated knowledge base pre-loading is now implemented.

What was implemented:

  1. FI Category Support (Issue #21):

    • Added 'FI' (Functional Integration) category to CATEGORY_TYPES
    • Updated CategoryBadge component with FI badge (purple, hands icon)
    • All 6 categories now: Principles, Patterns, Techniques, FI, Anatomy, Caution
  2. Knowledge Base Initialization:

    • New method in DatabaseAPI class
    • Checks if knowledge base is empty on first app launch
    • If empty, loads 12 foundational German-only knowledge entries
    • Categories cover: Principles, Patterns, Techniques, FI, Anatomy, Caution
    • Topics include: Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, core principles, FI basics, German associations
  3. Data Structure:

      • 12 German-only knowledge entries
    • Each entry has: id, title, category, content, tags
    • Content focuses on Feldenkrais fundamentals for German audience
  4. Integration:

    • Knowledge page uses useEffect to call initializeKnowledgeBase() on mount
    • Toast notification: 'Grundwissen zur Wissensbasis hinzugefügt'
    • Runs only once (checks if entries exist before initializing)

Files changed:

    • CATEGORY_TYPES export, KnowledgeCategory type
    • initializeKnowledgeBase() method
    • 12 German entries
    • Initialization hook
    • All 6 categories with icons
    • Uses CATEGORY_TYPES
    • Uses CATEGORY_TYPES for filter

Testing:

  • Fresh app install → Knowledge page has 12 pre-loaded entries
  • All 6 categories available in filter dropdown (including FI)
  • Content is in German, ready for multilingual expansion
